My 105th mini fig!
I thought I would celebrate this milestone by the only way I saw fit; a mini fig wearing an ‘I love Legoland’ t-shirt (which you can only get at Legoland) sat atop a Golden brick! Which I got when I became Team Leader at the hotel!
And the final cherry on the too is his hair. Normally he comes with a red cap (glued on!) but I modified it & think he looks a lot better rocking this style of hair.
What do you think?
The joy of Lego is having the ability to creative. As simple as that. And creating mini figs is what I love. I’m sure there are better more technical creators out there, but that’s them. This is me.
So, while I was trawling through my many spare parts, I made this!
His legs are from Atlantis, but can anyone tell me where his torso & ‘crown’ are from?
A new addition to my Ninjago crew, & another sweet bad guy!
This is Rattla. His body is kind of dullish, but his head & hood are sweet! I love the crazy demented look in his eyes. He reminds me off his from the Disney Robin Hood cartoon / film.
Like I said, not the most colourful, BUT, the mini set he comes in (set number 850445) is one of THE coolest mini sets…period! Seriously, I love it, So original & unique.
You can listen to me talk about how much I love it in episode #2 of thelegolowdown.podbean.com
While we’re on the subject of Spongebob, it makes sense to take a look at the man himself.
This is also from the same set as the Flying Dutchman (set #3817)
And once again showcases Lego’s ability to create fare superior mini figs than its building brick rivals.
The way they have used his face as an add on / over torso piece, and the head peg where the pirate hat sits is genius! Looks amazing, and his face printing is flawless.
An all round quality fig, even it it is ‘just’ spongebob.
This year I turn 29 years old. I’m an AFOL & proud (especially of mini figs, obviously)
Some people think it’s odd enough that I love mini figs so much, but when they see that i Spongebob Squarepants characters in my collection too, that just blows their mind!
But you know what? Forget about em! You know why? Well, just one look at this guy will show you.
Another amazing translation of cartoon to mini fig.
They couldn’t have done it better. The shades of Green are spot on, his accessories are awesome & they hit the bail on the head with how they made his ghost like vaper where his feet should be.
One of my top 10 figs & the set he comes with is also a must have too.
In a matter of minutes, Ireland will be playing against Spain in the 2012 Euro Championships, and I thought there was no better little yellow fella to introduce tonight, than this amazing leprechaun.
Excellent use of the children’s legs, & using studs as Gold coins was genius, & pulled off superbly.
Another of my personal favourites.
Well done Lego, and come on Ireland!
When this fig poured out of my blind bag I was somewhat disappointed.
I appreciate the skill behind making the head mould (I.e there is no regular mini fig head under there) but it just did nothing for me….then I remembered ‘Role Models’
If you’ve seen the film you’ll now know why I now love this figure.
Remember, ‘it’s not poison, it’s got juice in it’.
I once worked for a large power station, & having to wear this style of protection was a regular occurrence.
One of the best mini figs from this series, & as always it’s all about the detail.
The panic on his face & the sculpting of his head visor is superb.
Another must have for your collection.
An ‘army’ of these would also make a great scene.
